Harga Emas Naik Dipicu Konflik Yaman

Emas berjangka di divisi COMEX New York Mercantile Exchange berakhir naik pada Kamis (Jumat pagi WIB), karena ketidakpastian yang dipicu oleh serangan udara di Yaman mendorong investor beralih ke aset-aset "safe haven".

Kontrak emas yang paling aktif untuk pengiriman April naik 7,8 dolar AS, atau 0,65 persen, menjadi menetap di 1.204,80 dolar AS per ounce, lapor Xinhua.

Ketegangan meningkat di Timur Tengah setelah Arab Saudi dan sekutu Teluk Arab-nya memulai operasi militer di Yaman.

Arab Saudi, Uni Emirat Arab, Kuwait, Bahrain, dan Qatar mengatakan Kamis, mereka telah memutuskan untuk bertindak melindungi Yaman terhadap "agresi" oleh milisi Houthi, menurut pernyataan bersama.

Namun demikian, dolar mengurangi penyerbuan investor terhadap emas, karena indeks dolar, yang mengukur greenback terhadap sekeranjang mata uang utama, naik didukung laporan pekerjaan yang positif.

Emas dan dolar biasanya bergerak berlawanan arah, yang berarti jika dolar naik maka emas berjangka akan jatuh, karena emas yang diukur dengan dolar menjadi lebih mahal bagi investor.

Departemen Tenaga Kerja mengatakan pada Kamis, klaim pengangguran awal turun tajam selama pekan yang berakhir 21 Maret sebesar 9.000, menjadi 282.000. Ini menempatkan tekanan pada emas karena laporan itu sedikit lebih baik dari yang diharapkan. Namun, para analis mengingatkan bahwa hal itu tidak mungkin akan mempengaruhi laporan pekerjaan reguler akhir bulan ini.

Perak untuk pengiriman Mei naik 14 sen, atau 0,82 persen, menjadi ditutup pada 17,14 dolar AS per ounce. Platinum untuk pengiriman April naik 7,5 dolar AS, atau 0,65 persen, menjadi ditutup pada 1.154,00 dolar AS per ounce.

Dolar dan Bursa Saham AS Perkasa Tekan Harga Emas

Liputan6.com, San Francisco - Harga emas berjangka merosot pada sesi kedua di awal perdagangan seiring dolar menguat ditambah bursa saham Amerika Serikat (AS) bergerak positif. Hal itu mendorong investor keluar dari investasi logam mulia.

Harga emas untuk pengiriman April naik 1,3 persen ke level US$ 1.184,80 per ounce di divisi COMEX. Sementara itu, harga perak melemah 2,3 persen ke level US$ 16.674 per ounce.

"Emas sedang berjuang untuk reli di tengah kekuatan dolar menguat," ujar Ross Norman, Chief Executive Officer Sharps Pixley, seperti dikutip dari laman Marketwatch, Selasa (31/3/2015).

Indeks Dolar AS menguat telah mendorong investor menghindari emas. Komentar kepala bank sentral China terhadap kebijakan moneternya membuat bursa saham AS menghijau sehingga menekan harga emas.

Norman mengatakan, saat ini pasar emas didukung saat pembelian ketika harga emas jatuh. Akan tetapi hal itu tidak memadai untuk mendorong harga emas keluar dari level US$ 1.198 dan level psikologis US$ 1.200.

Sementara itu, analis HSBC menilai, kekhawatiran terhadap ekonomi global dapat mendorong permintaan emas seperti yang terjadi di awal pekan lalu. Hal itu juga dapat menghambat investor untuk mencari investasi di portofolio lainnya.

"Secara historis kalau ketegangan politik dapat memberikan keuntungan harga emas. Namun saat ini, harga emas akan tetap peka terhadap perkembangan Timur Tengah," tulis analis HSBC.

Pada pekan ini, pelaku pasar akan fokus untuk data tenaga kerja AS pada Maret 2015. Sentimen tersebut juga akan mempengaruhi harga emas.
